We offer tailored communication services to your district where we’ll sit down to discuss your needs, challenges, successes and more. From there, we’ll work with district leadership to address your top priorities.

Communication Services

• General Communication Plan
  This plan addresses how to keep your community informed about what’s happening in your district. It covers day-to-day ideas and topics, but also dives into higher-level communication efforts. In this plan, we’ll also discuss how think about communication in a new way.
• Marketing / Branding
  It may be surprising to think that a public school district needs to market themselves. But in today’s education landscape, it’s the truth. You need to share your success, inform your broader community about them and help your families feel good that they’ve chosen your district for their children. Other school’s are marketing themselves. Public schools need to do the same.
• On-going Communication Execution
  Sometimes a district needs a little extra help with the execution of their communication efforts. This often occurs when district leaders are sharing in this work but a district would like some help in design or messaging. This a good fit when there’s a need to be filled, but it’s not a large enough one to justify a full-time, or even half-time, position.
• Special Projects & Initiatives
  Large-scale projects require additional communication and support. Perhaps your district shares an “annual report” each year and you’d like help revamping it. Or maybe you have a remodel in progress and updates need to be share. Sharing information on efforts in the school is a key way to build community support. You want them to know what’s going on and how they join in or learn more. We’d be happy to make your vision a reality.
• Crisis & Emergent Communication
  In education, there are times of crisis or emergency communication. These types of communication needs don’t always happen during the normal workday, so having someone you can call even outside these hours can provide peace of mind. We’ll create some standard, boilerplate communications to be waiting just in case, and should you ever need them – we’ll be here to help.

Consulting Fees
These fees range based on the service that you need, the length of time and the ongoing nature of the work (if any). Typically services start at $1500 and go up from there based on the factors discussed above. We do offer discounts on bundled consulting efforts within Fields Educational Services. For example: If you hired Fields to help with creating a strategic plan and then wanted to communicate more about that plan to staff, students and the community – we’d offer a bundled services rate.

Experience
After nearly 20 years of communication experience working along a variety of education spaces, Tereca brings extensive knowledge on how to communicate with parents, families and the wider community. She knows that each community is unique. They have their own successes to share and challenges to face. Together, she’ll help district leadership think about how perception impacts reality and how to consider information from the lens of a stakeholder. The goals are to preserve trust, ensure transparency and build on the local pride communities have for their home-town school district.
